Diesel from renewable feedstocks

Tailored to the specific needs of your refinery, HydroFlex™ is a proven, industrial technology for transforming almost any renewable feedstock into high-quality diesel. The resulting fuel meets all ASTM 975 and EN 590 specifications. And with its high cetane number and low sulphur content, you can blend it with lower-grade fossil diesel so it complies with today’s ever-tightening legislation.

Boost your margins

Low-CAPEX, single-unit solution for EN 590 Diesel

Hydrotreating renewable feedstocks using a single-unit HydroFlex™ solution results in a low-CAPEX EN 590 diesel with a higher cetane number than conventional diesel. Because of this, it is ideal for blending with diesel from fossil fuels to satisfy legislative demands, particularly in the USA.

In addition, you can specify the performance of the diesel with summer or winter modes. Achieving a low cloud point of -20°C for winter diesel, you would normally expect to lose yield. But by choosing the right catalyst, you can achieve a much greater yield than you would expect.

Whether you run winter or summer modes, HydroFlex™ will produce drop-in diesel compatible with all conventional diesel engines without the need for any modification. And, if you wish to produce HVO-100 diesel to comply with new legislation or expand your range of applications, it is possible to revamp your existing single-unit HydroFlex™ solution – without losing the ability to produce EN 590 diesel.

Meet rising demand for high-grade biofuels

We have a track record of developing innovative solutions for clean, competitive fuels from renewable feedstock since 2004.
We have a track record of developing innovative solutions for clean, competitive fuels from renewable feedstock since 2004.

Although the legislation concerning renewable feedstock is relatively recent, we are ready to help you meet the demand for modern, high-grade biofuels today. With HydroFlex™, you can produce renewable gasoline, jet fuel and diesel from almost any feedstock, including tall oil, used cooking oil, animal fats and vegetable oils.

The process is complex, very different to refining non-renewable fuels and requires a substantial investment. But it is also profitable.
